Just a couple this morning as I have another long day of Die Zauberflöte rehearsals today:
- Ronald Brownstein warns that the closest parallel to the XPOTUS and his supporters assaulting the Constitution is "the strategies of the slaveholding South in the decades before the Civil War."
- David Brooks wonders out loud whether the old guard Republican Party (like himself) created their own monster by aggressively promoting a meritocracy that depends on people having the right parents, among other things.
- Matt Ford hopes Tuesday's indictments finally bury the "anti-anti-XPOTUS" ideology of the right, "the bizarre ideological stance held by some establishment conservatives."
It strikes me that the opera I'm in tomorrow seems less fantastic than the XPOTUS's supporters coming around to reason. Where's our Sarastro?
